64 kbps

64 kbps - Very important skills dude .... its pronounced as "चौसठ" or Chausaat.

You don't know what is 64kbps ??? ... [:o]

It's not a trick ... it's an art ... read on ...

You are writing a paper that is not mathematical ... requires some logical stuff, diagram, construction and working sort of thing.

You start off with the first question Unit 3) a ... Ah ... this is easy ... just read 15 minuted back. You write the first line and all of a sudden, you have second thoughts. You think that the answer to the question might be something different than what you are going to pen down. You panic for a moment. Then you realize that, you need to start off with the rest of the answers and come back to this one later when everything is sorted out.

Move on to the next question. Ah! this is easy. Just read it 10 minutes back. You start off with impressive writing so that the paper "checker" gets impressed by your writing. You take your own time underlining words in every other line and using scales in the diagrams. You suddenly realize that time is of essence and you need to finish up with the important part of the answering.

You start scribbling now. The paper seems easy now. You tally the number of answers that you wrote and how many marks they will fetch you. You watch is staring at you from that desk. You just remove it off your hand to easy off the weight off your shoulders (hand actually).

You look at the watch. its digital (mine is). You ask yourself, "Is this the time ? Or is this the 3 hour timer that I set at the beginning ???"
You double check. It is the time, you forgot to set the 3 hour timer in this exam as well !!! Agrhhhh !!!! You still have one hour to go. To go for the final kill. (for engineers at our university, this moment is very precious and auspicious. If you live to see this moment, chances are that you might clear the paper !)

You are in the last unit of the paper. 20 marks. Thats it. As an engineer, people tend to have completed 4 units of any given paper. In the 11th hour of exam, we do have an option of doing the fifth unit or revising the previous 4. We do the fifth. Very crudely. Very superficially. Thats what fucks up the rest of the 4 previous ones. So we have an engineer that trying to make sense of words so that he can grab 16 off those 20 marks in the 5th unit. In this attempt, he tries to mix and match the answers randomly, so that "the checker" doesn't really know what you have said. He will just realize that you have tried to pen down all the words you have read in the 5th unit. Even though the words are poorly joined by connectors, you try and make a final impression. At the end of the unit, you feel as if it was a weak attempt to impress with fake and fascinating answers. You feel exactly like you are Wiley. E. Coyote from the road runner show and one of your spoofs have goofed you up in the end. Beep beep. You are now officially fucked.

You ignore it. You remind yourself that it was the 5th unit. You were not meant to write it anyways. Whatever you get is a positive for you.

From the back of your head, you hear these dreading words, "Ten minutes left. ... Tie your supplements ... !"

more so ...

"If you want extra supplements, ask for it now.
We wont entertain you after this moment."

They say the word entertain as if they are going to give a lap dance in the middle of the examination.

So you tie up your supplements. Count the number of supplements.
1 main + 3 extra = 4 total.

Double knot it ... just to be sure.

"7 minutes left. Stop discussing !!!"

Thats when you think that you can atleast tally answers with the guy sitting ahead of you.

"Psst ... psst ... Dude ... Unit 1 b, just show me the diagram."

He shows it ... as a matter of mutual understanding. You wait for his inquiry. You answer his question. Things seem to be going smoothly. Just then. They guy asks, "Unit 3) c ka diagram ?"

You frantically flip the pages. Blank space. Panic. Panic.

"5 minutes left. Tie your supplements and please keep your volume down !"

Cold sweat on your brow. Your mouth is dry. It's the after shock effects.
You ask him, "Unit 3) a ka answer kya hai re ? Iska Diagram konsa hai ?"
He replies, "Abe woh wala jisme 12 box the !"

It strikes you finally. You have missed a 12 mark bonanza question that comes among the 1st four units and you left it in the beginning of the paper. Forget pencils. Forget scale. Forget everything that mattered materialistically. Draw 12 fucking boxes, try and remember the names of the boxes and start writing the theory.

"Psst ... psst ... oyye ... box ke naam bata jaldi !!!"
He starts off ... you think he is right ... he thinks likewise.

Complete the boxes first. They carry 4 marks (thats almost 1/3rd !) Theory ... start !

When the signal is sent to the first stage of modulation, it is modulated to a frequency of 3KHz. Then the next stage is hetero.... bla bla bla ...

Keep on writing. No pencils. No scales. Only write the things that matter. And write as if the words are flowing right from your brain to your pen and to your paper. it doesn't matter if you skipped something. It only matters that you complete the paper on time and then submit it to the floor walkers. No questions asked on the correctness of the content of the matter thats on the unit 3) a. Its purely intentional and subject to damage control. You are writing that stuff only fill in the 2 page gap that you left for it. Even if you know the answer to the exact point, it seems a bit short for the space you left. So you write up a sentence. Change the mode (active and passive voice) and then reframe the sentence for the "Checker" ... so that he thinks that you have written somethings that authentic and phonomenal.

You flipped (the page) and then remembered that u forgot ... [look at the irony of that ] ... within next 5 minutes you try to bring all your knowledge into words and write stuff thats flowing like a river ... unstoppable and unharmed.

The words are a mirror image of your thoughts at that moment ...
That moment in true sense is called 64 kbps ... its the rate at which u phekophy !!!

i didnt get the phekophy though, i hope you explain.

back to your 64kbps. Totally opposite to what i thought in the begining, but a sheer delight it be.

I've recently been taking exams, and it is so damnm true. I always start off with a question end up realizing (right after 10 minutes) that this was Not My question, leave 5 pages black to come back later. flaunt on the fact that i am on the fifth question while the rest of my peeps are still on the 3rd (forgetting the fact for the minute that i have left two questions in the middle and only provided the heading of one question) and loving the fact that i was the one to ask for supplement sheet~

the hell always break loose when 30 minutes remain and i am done with only one question complete out of say, 10 questions? diagram of this, heading of this, underlining this, answer of this! blah!

I loved ur post.
very much reminds me of me.
